Answers to common customization questions and requests.

Can I Change...?

Colors

Yes. Go to Theme settings > Colors to modify any color in the theme.

Fonts

Yes. Go to Theme settings > Typography to choose from Shopify's font library.

Logo Size

Yes. Go to Theme settings > Logo and adjust the Logo width slider.

Button Style

Yes. Go to Theme settings > Buttons to change corner radius and text transform.

Layout Width

Yes. Go to Theme settings > Layout to change the max page width and margins.

Animations

Yes. Go to Theme settings > Animations to change style or disable them.

Section Customization

Can I Reorder Sections?

Yes. In the theme editor:

  1. Click and hold on a section
  2. Drag to reorder
  3. Drop in the new position

Can I Remove a Section?

Yes. Click the section, scroll to the bottom of settings, and click Remove section.

Can I Duplicate a Section?

Yes. Click the section, then click the Duplicate button in the toolbar.

Can I Hide a Section Without Deleting?

Yes. Click the eye icon next to the section to hide/show it.

Adding Custom Code

Where Can I Add Custom CSS?

Add custom CSS through:

  1. Go to Online Store > Themes
  2. Click Actions > Edit code
  3. Find theme.css in Assets
  4. Add your CSS at the bottom

Or use a custom CSS app for easier management.

Where Can I Add Custom JavaScript?

Add custom JavaScript in:

  1. Online Store > Themes > Edit code
  2. Find theme.liquid in Layout
  3. Add scripts before the closing </body> tag

Warning: Custom code can break your theme. Always backup first.

Can I Add Google Analytics?

Yes. Shopify has built-in Google Analytics integration:

  1. Go to Online Store > Preferences
  2. Add your Google Analytics tracking ID
  3. Or use Google Tag Manager

Feature Requests

Features Not Available

If Elle doesn't have a feature you need:

  1. Check if a Shopify app provides it
  2. Contact support to request features
  3. Consider custom development for unique needs

Third-Party App Integration

Most Shopify apps are compatible with Elle. If an app isn't displaying correctly:

  1. Check the app's documentation
  2. Contact the app developer
  3. May require minor CSS adjustments

Common Customization Questions

How Do I Add a Popup?

Elle includes a Popup Newsletter section. Add it to your homepage for email signup popups.

For other popup types, consider a popup app from the Shopify App Store.

How Do I Create a Mega Menu?

  1. Go to Online Store > Navigation
  2. Create a menu with nested items
  3. The header automatically displays nested items as a mega menu

How Do I Add Social Proof/Reviews?

  1. Install a reviews app (Judge.me, Loox, Yotpo, etc.)
  2. Follow the app's setup instructions
  3. Reviews typically appear on product pages automatically

How Do I Add a Size Guide?

Options:

  1. Add size information in product descriptions
  2. Use a size guide app
  3. Create a page with size information and link to it

How Do I Change the Currency?

  1. Go to Settings > Markets
  2. Configure markets and currencies
  3. Enable currency selector in footer settings

How Do I Add Multiple Languages?

  1. Go to Settings > Languages
  2. Add additional languages
  3. Enable language selector in footer settings

When to Contact Support

Custom Development
